Adicet's off-the-shelf CAR-T shows 50% kidney response in early lupus trial

An early-stage study of Adicet Bio's off-the-shelf gamma-delta CAR-T cell therapy reported encouraging results in patients with lupus nephritis.

After a year of follow-up, half of the evaluable participants achieved a complete kidney response and just over half met a standard remission criterion. All of the responders had previously failed multiple therapies and were able to stop using immunosuppressive drugs.

The trial also noted an absence of serious cytokine release syndrome and no neurological adverse events, addressing two common safety concerns with cell therapies. Adicet plans to launch a pivotal lupus study in the fourth quarter to further evaluate the approach.
