Adicet Bio's off-the-shelf CAR-T therapy shows lupus remission in early Phase 1 trial

Adicet Bio reported that its off-the-shelf CAR-T product prula-cel induced remission in more than half of lupus patients enrolled in a small Phase 1 study.

One year after a single infusion, 12 of the 22 patients assessed had achieved remission of systemic lupus symptoms, and eight of the 16 patients who had lupus nephritis saw their kidney disease remit.

The company said no cases of the severe immune hyperinflammatory syndrome that has troubled other CAR-T programs were observed, highlighting a favorable safety profile compared with recent setbacks at larger firms.
