Novo signs €1.2 bn deal with Nanexa for long-acting injectables as Acadia’s Alzheimer trial misses target

Novo has agreed to pay Nanexa up to about €1.165 bn for its PharmaShell delivery platform, which enables long-acting injectable medicines.

The partnership will apply the technology to up to five candidates aimed at obesity, type-2 diabetes and other cardiometabolic diseases, with dosing intervals ranging from once a month to once a quarter.

Nanexa will receive €615 m as an upfront payment, with additional milestone payments tied to development progress.

Meanwhile, Acadia Pharmaceuticals said its experimental Alzheimer’s drug remlifanserin failed to achieve statistical significance in a Phase 2 trial, prompting a modest share price decline.
