Lexeo Therapeutics acquires Mantle Therapeutics for $8.3M to expand Friedreich ataxia pipeline
Lexeo Therapeutics announced it will acquire Mantle Therapeutics for an upfront payment of $8.3 million, aiming to broaden its Friedreich ataxia pipeline.
The transaction could rise to $21.3 million including up to $13 million in milestones. The deal brings four FA assets, including the clinical‑stage oral combination LX3010, which showed a 6‑point improvement on the modified Friedreich Ataxia Rating Scale in an early study of 11 patients.
Lexeo also gains three preclinical programs-LX3030, LX3050 and LX3070-that target the frataxin protein needed for mitochondrial energy production, positioning the company to advance treatments for the rare disorder affecting about 1 in 50,000 Americans.
