MedTech Mayo Clinic teams with Thermo Fisher to form biomedical data group Precure By Joseph Keenan Sep 15, 2026 11:46am Mayo Clinic Thermo Fisher Scientific partnership Big Data The Mayo Clinic has partnered with Thermo Fisher Scientific to launch a new group focused on reaping large-scale data that could lead to the understanding and development of new treatments, devices and diagnostics. The newly formed Precure LLC is tasked with creating one of the largest biomedical datasets using human multi-omics data generation that integrates proteomic, genomic and longitudinal clinical data to help identify early biological signals of disease, the clinic said in a release. The goal is to better understand and identify early biological signals that develop before a disease is clinically diagnosed. By connecting molecular and clinical data early on, researchers could get a head start that could lead to faster drug development and earlier diagnosis across a wide range of diseases, including cancer, cardiometabolic disease, neurological disorders and immune-mediated disease. Related Thermo Fisher Scientific teams up with Nvidia, TetraScience for next-gen AI workflow projects “Precure has the potential to create a step change in how we generate and apply multi-omics data to improve human health,” Marc Casper, Thermo Fisher Scientific’s chair and CEO, said in a statement.

“By combining Thermo Fisher's leadership in scientific technology with Mayo Clinic's leadership in clinical care, research and innovation, we can create new opportunities at unprecedented scale to detect disease earlier, accelerate drug development and enable more precise therapies.”The newly formed group is designed to complement Mayo Clinic’s Precure Research, which is part of an effort to gain insight into biological changes that happen as people move from health toward disease.Precure Research looks to identify early disease signals while Precure LLC would provide the scale and infrastructure for collecting molecular data that could lead to new diagnostics, therapies and other solutions.Mayo Clinic said any financial returns it earned from the endeavor would be used to further its mission of patient care, research and education.
