Vera Therapeutics' Trutakna shows kidney function stabilization and lower death risk in Phase 3 IgAN trial

Vera Therapeutics reported that its drug Trutakna met its primary goals in a two‑year Phase 3 study of patients with IgA nephropathy. The therapy stabilized kidney function and lowered the risk of kidney‑related death and other serious complications.

The company noted that the FDA granted accelerated approval for Trutakna in July, and with the final data now available, Vera plans to file for full approval in the fourth quarter of the year.

If the full approval is granted, Trutakna could become a key treatment option for a chronic autoimmune kidney disease that often progresses to dialysis, offering a potential market boost for Vera and a new hope for patients.
