BioNTech's anti-CTLA-4 drug shows survival advantage in advanced squamous lung cancer at WCLC

BioNTech, together with partner OncoC4, presented new overall survival data at the World Conference on Lung Cancer in South Korea, joining other companies such as Summit Therapeutics, GSK and Roche that also shared promising results.

The anti‑CTLA‑4 monoclonal antibody, gotistobart, produced a median overall survival of 18.5 months in patients with metastatic squamous non‑small cell lung cancer who had progressed after prior therapy, compared with a 10‑month median for those receiving chemotherapy.

These results come from the non‑pivotal stage of the global PRESERVE‑003 Phase 3 trial, which is designed to confirm the optimal dose before the study proceeds to its second portion. An interim readout is expected later this year, suggesting a positive trajectory for the program.
