Pennsylvania officials confirmed a third measles-related death in the state this year, involving a 40-year-old woman in Jefferson County.

Coroner Greg Furlong said the death was measles-related but did not disclose the woman's vaccination status or further details.

Earlier this year the state recorded two measles deaths among infants, including a newborn with a ruptured spleen and a six-week-old girl, underscoring the disease's seriousness.
