Singapore opens biotech-focused Boston hub, strengthening ties with city

Singapore announced the opening of its fifth U.S. overseas centre, a biotech-focused hub in Boston, during an event at the historic Raffles Hotel. Government officials and business leaders gathered to mark the milestone and to highlight the long-standing relationship between the two regions.

The new centre is situated in Kendall Square, Cambridge, and has been operating for almost a year. At the ceremony, Singapore and the host U.S. state signed their first agreement aimed at fostering mutual economic growth in the biotech sector.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu attended the launch and expressed confidence in the partnership, saying the Kendall Square hub will soon become Singapore's premier American office.
