Tirabrutinib and CAR T-cell therapy show promise for relapsed/refractory primary CNS lymphoma

Experts highlighted emerging data on tirabrutinib and CAR T-cell therapy as potential new options for patients with relapsed or refractory primary central nervous system lymphoma.

CAR T-cell therapy is being incorporated into treatment plans, with particular attention to managing neurologic adverse events that can arise when treating a disease that primarily affects the brain and spinal cord.

Tirabrutinib, an oral agent described as well tolerated, is currently under FDA review for a new drug application and is further evaluated in the ongoing phase 3 IGNITE trial.
