Inhibrx reports promising responses to OX40 immunotherapy in HPV-positive head and neck cancer

Inhibrx announced that its experimental immunotherapy targeting the protein OX40 produced measurable responses in patients with head and neck cancer, with the clearest activity observed in a small group of HPV-positive tumors.

The results mark the first apparent success for the OX40 target after more than a decade of attempts by several major drugmakers, suggesting a potential niche application for the therapy.

CEO Mark Lappe described the outcome as rewarding given the historical difficulty of developing OX40-based treatments, while noting that the benefit may be limited to a specific patient subset.
