Pfizer transfers Seagen ADC PF-08046031 to Medicus, adds $12M upfront payment amid acquisition doubts

Pfizer has moved primary responsibility for an investigational antibody‑drug conjugate, PF‑08046031, to Medicus Pharma as part of its $43 billion Seagen acquisition.

Under the license, Medicus will pay $12 million upfront and a $15 million anniversary payment, with additional milestones that could push total value over $1 billion, while Pfizer may earn royalties on future sales.

Pfizer also provided a non‑refundable $2 million commitment to fund the early development work, but retains oversight of the ADC’s development plans.

The deal follows a recent late‑stage failure of another Seagen asset and the discontinuation of a separate investigational therapy, adding uncertainty to the overall value of the Seagen purchase.
