ARPA-H allocates up to $125 million to accelerate personalized RNA therapy manufacturing

Sep 3, 2026·read at BioSpace ↗RegulatoryPositive

ARPA-H announced a new program, called GIVE, that will provide up to $125 million in research funding to develop faster, decentralized manufacturing methods for individualized RNA‑based genetic medicines.

The initiative aims to replace the current slow, costly, centralized production model with an automated network that can produce personalized RNA therapies quickly and at locations closer to patients, improving speed, scale and accessibility.

Early efforts will focus on cancer, rare genetic conditions and chronic diseases, and the program will work closely with the FDA to co‑develop a regulatory framework for distributed, individualized manufacturing.

By lowering costs and shortening timelines, the funding seeks to make breakthrough CRISPR gene‑editing and other RNA therapies more widely available outside major treatment centers.
