Teva reports positive mid-stage results for celiac disease antibody, BioMarin settles patent fight with Ascendis

Teva said its experimental antibody TEV-408 showed statistically significant and clinically meaningful reduction in gluten-induced intestinal damage in a mid-stage trial for celiac disease.

The trial compared TEV-408 with placebo over eight weeks and the drug prevented damage, supporting Teva’s claim that the molecule could serve as a "pipeline-in-a-product" with potential applications beyond celiac disease, including early data in vitiligo.

Teva plans to continue analyzing data from the ongoing Phase 2a study and will present additional results at a future scientific meeting.

In a separate development, BioMarin reached a settlement with Ascendis Pharma over a patent related to Ascendis’s newly launched treatment for achondroplasia, ending the dispute between the companies.
