Medical groups issue new flu, Covid and RSV vaccination guidance for upcoming winter season
Professional organizations representing pediatricians, family physicians, obstetricians and other clinicians released joint vaccination guidelines on Wednesday for the upcoming respiratory illness season.
The guidance advises which patients should receive flu, Covid-19 and RSV vaccines to reduce the risk of infection or severe disease, and is intended to help doctors counsel patients and individuals plan their immunizations.
The effort was coordinated with the University of Minnesota's Vaccine Integrity Project and marks a shift from previous collaborations with the CDC, which ended after the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices was disbanded in June 2025.
