Lonza appoints Samanta Cimitan as chief commercial officer as WuXi Biologics posts revenue surge

Lonza said it will create a new chief commercial officer position and has selected Samanta Cimitan, the current chief executive of Celonic, to take the role on Jan. 1 next year.

Cimitan will be responsible for managing Lonza's commercial accounts and accelerating growth across its contract development and manufacturing services.

WuXi Biologics reported a notable rise in revenue for the most recent quarter, highlighting continued demand for its biologics manufacturing platform.

The revenue increase and Lonza's leadership appointment both point to a strengthening of the contract manufacturing sector as companies seek external partners for drug development.
