Deficiencies that might be subclinical in adult cats can be rapidly fatal or cause permanent developmental damage in kittens. Kittens fed milk replacer that is deficient in copper, potassium, vitamin B6, folic acid, and choline face compounding, multi-system risks, such as anemia, neurological dysfunction, liver failure, kidney damage, skeletal diseases, and cardiac compromise.

Due to the rapid growth of young kittens, clinical signs may appear within days to a few weeks, and the deficiencies can be fatal or cause permanent organ damage if not recognized in time. Consumers who have kittens that have consumed any of the recalled products and are showing clinical signs should contact their veterinarian.Recalled products were sold nationwide online and in retail pet stores. Products are packaged in multiple sizes of stand-up resealable bags and 12 oz jars.

Consumers should stop feeding the products listed below to their kittens:BrandProductUPCSizeBest By Date(s)Shelter's ChoiceFeline Milk Replacer8171600110321 lb.10/31/2026, 4/23/2027, 5/01/2027, 5/20/2027, 6/25/2027, 2/05/2028, 3/12/2028Shelter's ChoiceFeline Milk Replacer8171600110493.5 lb.10/31/2026, 5/20/2027, 6/25/2027, 8/06/2027Shelter's ChoiceFeline Milk Replacer8171600110638 lb.9/09/2026, 10/31/2026, 5/20/2027, 6/25/2027, 8/06/2027, 3/12/2028Breeder's EdgeFoster Care Feline Milk Replacer81716001019612 oz9/09/2026, 4/16/2027, 4/18/2027, 6/25/2027 8/06/2027, 3/12/2028Breeder's EdgeFoster Care Feline Milk Replacer81716001127818 lb.9/09/2026, 4/23/2027, 5/01/2027, 5/20/2027, 6/25/2027, 8/06/2027, 11/14/2027, 3/12/2028Breeder's EdgeFoster Care Feline Milk Replacer8171600101034.5 lb.4/18/2027, 5/1/2027No illnesses resulting from the use of these products have been confirmed, but Revival is investigating nine complaints of potential gastrointestinal and bone development issues. After receiving third party test results suggesting a possible nutrient deficiency in one lot of a Feline Milk Replacer product, Revival conducted its own confirmatory testing on multiple lots. Those test results were analyzed by an independent animal nutritionist on August 12, 2026 and led to Revival’s decision to conduct this voluntary recall due to third-party manufacturing inconsistencies resulting in low levels of potassium, copper, folic acid, choline and/or pyridoxine (vitamin B6).Revival Animal Health has discontinued its relationship with this contracted manufacturer.Consumers who have purchased the recalled product should stop feeding immediately and contact the company to return for a full refund.
