Revival Animal Health recalls two feline milk replacer products over low vitamin and mineral levels
Revival Animal Health of Orange City, Iowa announced a voluntary recall of its Breeder’s Edge and Shelter’s Choice feline milk replacers.
Testing revealed the products contain lower than expected amounts of potassium, copper, folic acid, choline and vitamin B6.
These nutrients are essential for kitten development; deficiencies can cause anemia, neurological issues, liver or kidney damage, skeletal disease and heart problems, especially in newborns.
Owners who have given the recalled milk replacer to kittens should stop use immediately and contact the company for guidance or a refund.
