Eli Lilly signs up to $370M ion-channel collaboration with OmniAb
Eli Lilly has entered a collaboration with antibody platform company OmniAb that could involve up to $370 million in research, development and commercial milestone payments.
OmniAb, which was spun out of Ligand Pharmaceuticals in 2022, has previously partnered with several large pharma firms, including Johnson & Johnson on bispecific and trispecific antibodies, Boehringer Ingelheim on a liver disease candidate, Merck KGaA on an antibody-drug conjugate for colorectal cancer, and Teva on an interleukin-15 antibody for vitiligo.
The agreement targets a new ion-channel program, but both companies declined to disclose the specific therapeutic target or modality. OmniAb’s chief executive Matt Foehr said the partnership reflects Lilly’s focus on addressing major unmet medical needs.
