Deerfield-backed Boulevard Bio raises $65 million and unveils three autoimmune drug candidates

Boulevard Bio, a New York‑based biotech focused on B‑cell biology, announced it has emerged from stealth with $65 million in financing from Deerfield Management. The funding supports the development of three candidates targeting autoimmune diseases.

The company was incubated by Deerfield Discovery and Development and was co‑founded by B‑cell expert Georg Schett, MD, and Deerfield partner Frank Nestle, MD. Mahesh Karande, a former CEO of Omega Therapeutics and longtime Novartis executive, is leading the firm.

Boulevard’s lead asset, BLVD101, is a bispecific molecule that targets the B‑cell activating factor (BAFF) pathway, and two additional candidates are in early development. The team emphasized a patient‑centric approach, aiming to translate the science into tangible treatments for patients with autoimmune conditions.
