Amgen to open new R&D Science and Innovation Center in Hyderabad's Genome Valley by 2027

Amgen announced plans to establish a Science and Innovation Center in Hyderabad's Genome Valley, a biotech hub in India. The facility is slated to open in 2027 and will become part of Amgen's global network of seven research laboratories.

The center will focus on discovery chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, and precision medicine, bringing together scientists and technologists. Amgen's executive vice president of R&D, artificial intelligence and data, Jay Bradner said the site will integrate experimental science with data and technology across the company's research capabilities.

While Amgen did not disclose the investment amount, the move underscores its strategy to expand R&D capacity outside the United States and accelerate the development of innovative medicines for patients.
