AbCellera’s antibody ABCL635 cuts hot flash frequency in early trial, outperforms oral competitors

AbCellera Biologics reported that its investigational antibody ABCL635 markedly reduced the number of moderate and severe hot flashes in post‑menopausal women during a Phase 1/2 study. At week four, participants receiving the drug experienced an average drop of 8.8 hot flash episodes per day, compared with a 3.5‑episode reduction on placebo, a difference that reached statistical significance.

The results were highlighted by BMO Capital Markets, which said the magnitude of benefit sets a new efficacy bar for vasomotor symptom treatments and appears differentiated from existing oral options such as Astellas’ Veozah and Bayer’s Lynkuet.

AbCellera’s stock jumped nearly 35% following the release, underscoring investor optimism that the data could position ABCL635 as a best‑in‑class therapy and transform the company’s pipeline.
