Victory Medical Center Pharmacy recalls glutathione vials over high endotoxin levels

Victory Medical Center Pharmacy in Austin announced a voluntary recall of specific lots of its compounded glutathione 200 mg/mL multi‑dose vials.

Testing at the pharmacy detected elevated bacterial endotoxin levels, which can trigger serious medical reactions such as fever, hypotension, inflammatory responses, anaphylactic shock, and even death.

The company has received reports of adverse events including fever, chills, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, rapid heart rate, blood pressure changes, body aches, and injection‑site reactions.

The recalled product, lot numbers 1980571, 1981940 and 1984345, was distributed to patients in Texas, Florida and New York and will be removed from use. Victory Medical Center Pharmacy is contacting prescribers and patients by phone and mail.
