American Regent recalls two lots of Adequan canine injection and two lots of Adequan i.m. for horses due to glass fibers

Aug 3, 2026·read at fda medwatch ↗CRLNegative

American Regent Animal Health announced a nationwide recall of specific lots of its Adequan products for dogs and horses.

The recall includes two lots of the 100 mg/mL 5 mL multi‑dose canine injection (lot numbers 25011 and 3369) and two lots of the 500 mg/5 mL single‑dose horse injection (lot numbers 24416 and 25265P).

Testing identified visible glass fiber particles in the vials, which could cause local irritation, swelling, pain, infection or abscesses at the injection site. The company reports no adverse events have been reported so far.

The products are prescription‑only and must be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Veterinarians and pet owners are advised to return or discard the affected lots.
