Claris Bio raises $118M Series B and appoints new CEO to advance eye-drug for limbal stem cell deficiency
Claris Bio, a New Jersey biotechnology company, announced a $118 million Series B financing round co-led by Samsara BioCapital and Catalio Capital Management, with participation from Sofinnova Investments, Novo Holdings and other investors.
The company also named veteran executive Stephen Brady as chief executive officer and added chief commercial officers, bolstering its leadership team as it pushes its experimental eye therapy forward.
The capital will be used to move the candidate into late-stage clinical testing early next year for limbal stem cell deficiency, a rare blinding condition caused by damage to corneal stem cells.
Claris hopes the therapy could become the first approved treatment for LSCD, addressing an unmet need for patients affected by trauma, surgery or autoimmune‑related damage.
