Argenx to acquire Forte Biosciences for $2.2 billion, securing phase-2 vitiligo antibody FB102

Jul 27, 2026·read at Fierce Biotech ↗DealPositive

Argenx announced it will buy Forte Biosciences for $2.2 billion, gaining access to FB102, an anti‑CD122 antibody currently in phase‑2 trials for vitiligo and celiac disease.

In a recent phase 1b study, FB102 produced a 29.6% improvement in a facial vitiligo scoring system, prompting Argenx to move from a strategic investment to a full acquisition.

The company expects readout from the phase 2 celiac disease trial later this year and sees potential for FB102 in alopecia areata and other autoimmune conditions.

Argenx says FB102 complements its existing antibody portfolio, which includes the marketed drug Vyvgart and several late‑stage programs targeting neuromuscular diseases.
