Innoviva revives Lyndra's long-acting oral drug platform

Innoviva, a healthcare asset and royalties holding firm, announced it is bringing back Lyndra's long-acting oral drug delivery platform. The technology, which previously attracted more than $380 million in venture and nonprofit funding, is being resurrected to enable extended-release oral therapies.

The company noted that renowned scientist Bob Langer and FDA commissioner Janet Woodcock are serving as advisors, providing scientific and regulatory guidance for the effort.

No specific drug candidates were identified, but the move reflects renewed investor confidence in oral delivery methods for chronic diseases.
