Trump administration threatens fines for over 500 hospitals that fail to disclose pricing

The Trump administration has warned more than 500 hospitals that they are not providing the public with basic pricing information, the Associated Press reported.

Hospitals that fail to create a plan to post clear pricing data could be fined as much as $2 million each year, according to the letters sent since April.

The enforcement effort builds on a 2019 executive order on price transparency, and officials said President Donald Trump intends to increase oversight, meaning additional hospitals may receive similar warnings.
