Biogen posts third consecutive quarter of revenue growth, driven by Leqembi, Spinraza and Apellis products
Biogen reported $2.8 billion in revenue for the third quarter, marking its third straight period of top‑line growth.
The company credited its growth portfolio, led by the Alzheimer’s therapy Leqembi and the spinal muscular atrophy drug Spinraza, which together generated $1.26 billion, a 49% increase from a year earlier.
New products from Apellis, acquired by Biogen in March for $5.6 billion, also contributed to the results, representing the first full quarter of earnings from that acquisition.
Analysts had expected revenue of about $2.6 billion and earnings per share of $2.14. Biogen posted $2.62 billion in revenue and $2.14 EPS before adjusting for acquisition‑related R&D charges, which turned the adjusted result into a modest loss.
