Axsome secures settlement to keep Sunosi exclusive until 2040

Axsome Therapeutics announced it has reached a settlement that pushes back the entry of generic versions of its narcolepsy medication Sunosi until 2040.

The agreement was reached with the last remaining applicant seeking to launch a generic, effectively extending Sunosi's market exclusivity for the next 14 years.

The delay is expected to preserve revenue streams for Axsome and maintain its position in the narcolepsy treatment market, though it may affect future competition and pricing dynamics.
