Eli Lilly gives hospitals five days to meet new 340B claims data policy or lose discounts

Eli Lilly has told a group of hospitals they must adhere to a new claims data policy within five days or their participation in the 340B drug discount program will be terminated.

The policy requires hospitals to submit detailed information on 340B prescription claims, which Lilly says is needed to verify that discounts are being applied correctly and to prevent misuse of the program.

Some health centers have pushed back, saying the request adds administrative burden and they have not been given sufficient time to adjust. If they do not comply, they risk losing the significant price reductions that 340B provides for eligible patients.
