Revolution Medicines' Daraxonrasib Doubles Survival in Pancreatic Cancer Trial, Study Shows

Results from a late-stage trial of the experimental pill daraxonrasib were presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting. The data showed that patients receiving the drug lived almost twice as long as those treated with standard chemotherapy, a benefit not previously seen in pancreatic cancer.

The study was conducted by Revolution Medicines and involved patients with advanced disease. The targeted therapy appeared to significantly extend overall survival compared with the current standard of care.

Physicians at the University of Arizona Cancer Center described the findings as highly impactful, with one specialist noting an emotional response upon seeing the results. The outcome could represent a major shift in how pancreatic cancer is treated.
