The goal is to provide better, more personalized insights by bridging the gap between an individual’s DNA and their medical records,” Robin Smith, the 23andMe head of product, said in a statement about the deal.Advertisement The announcement was made at the STAT 2026 Breakthrough Summit West Tuesday, an annual event focused on the intersection of research in biology and technology. The new functionality will be based on the technology of a startup called HealthEx, which is designed to help users make their medical records more portable.
