BlackRock to acquire majority stake in Humana’s CenterWell clinics for $2.8 billion
Humana announced that BlackRock will purchase Welsh Carson’s majority stake in the CenterWell Senior Primary Care network, a deal valued at $2.8 billion. The transaction covers roughly 150 Medicare Advantage-focused clinics.
Humana said the infusion of capital will support ongoing clinic operations, enable the opening of new locations, and fund additional strategic acquisitions over the next two years.
Welsh Carson, which first invested in CenterWell in 2020, has contributed about $1.8 billion to the venture. After more than six years, the private-equity firm is exiting the partnership, handing control to the asset-management giant.
