PhRMA appoints former congressman Eric Cantor as CEO as Pierre Fabre resubmits Ebvallo approval request

PhRMA announced that former U.S. House member Eric Cantor will become its president and chief executive on Nov 9, taking over from longtime leader Steve Ubl. Cantor served Virginia from 2000 to 2014 and was House majority leader for three years, playing a role in the 21st Century Cures Act and Medicare Part D legislation.

Cantor’s appointment follows his extensive experience in health policy, and he will succeed Ubl, who will remain as a strategic adviser through Jan 15.

Separately, Pierre Fabre Laboratories has filed a third request for U.S. approval of its cell therapy product Ebvallo, after two prior rejections by regulators.
