Poll finds most rural MAHA supporters say Trump health policies have not improved community health

A new Associated Press‑KFF poll of more than 2,000 rural registered voters shows that while about half of respondents identify with the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, roughly eight in ten say the Trump administration’s health policies have had a negative effect or no impact on health in their communities.

Among those who consider themselves MAHA supporters, 68% share the same negative assessment. The survey includes comments such as those from Iowa pastor Mike Jager, a Republican who says the policies have had only a minimal impact on his community’s health.

The findings highlight a perceived gap between the administration’s health‑care agenda and the experiences of rural Americans, suggesting the policy messaging may not be resonating with a key voting bloc.
