Scynexis secures $200M+ BARDA contract for investigational antifungal SCY-247

Scynexis announced a partnership with the U.S. Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) that provides more than $200 million to advance SCY-247, an experimental therapy aimed at serious drug-resistant fungal infections.

The funding will support preclinical and early clinical work to evaluate safety and efficacy, positioning SCY-247 as a potential treatment option for infections that are difficult to treat with existing antifungals.

In the same briefing, Bristol Myers Squibb shared early results from a dual-targeting CAR-T cell program, while brief updates were noted for MediciNova, Tolerance Bio, Tanabe, Lepu Medical and Synphatec.
