NIH launches Linked Discoveries tool on PubMed to streamline finding related biomedical papers

Sep 21, 2026·read at Fierce Biotech ↗Positive

The National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine has released a pilot version of a new tool called Linked Discoveries on PubMed.

The feature adds a button to a paper’s page that opens a graphic showing the paper’s “neighborhood” of related studies, including those that cite it and those it cites.

NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya said the tool is part of a broader effort to improve reproducibility by making it easier for scientists to test, verify and build on previous work.
