Federal Court Issues Consent Decree Halting Gold Star Distribution's FDA-Regulated Shipments Over Unsanitary Warehouse

The U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota entered a consent decree on Sept. 21, 2026 that permanently enjoins Gold Star Distribution, Inc. and its owner Bassam Abu Samrah from distributing any FDA-regulated products.

The decree follows an FDA inspection that found persistent insanitary conditions at the company’s warehouse, including severe rodent and pest infestations that could contaminate food, drugs, medical devices and cosmetics.

FDA Associate Commissioner for Inspections and Investigations Elizabeth Miller, Pharm.D., said the agency will act when a company repeatedly ignores serious violations that threaten consumer trust.

Under the decree, Gold Star and its associated persons are barred from receiving, holding for sale, or distributing food, dietary supplements, medicines, medical devices or cosmetics until they bring the facility into compliance with federal requirements.
