ReCode Therapeutics appoints Heather Clark as CEO to lead cystic fibrosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia programs

ReCode Therapeutics announced that Heather Clark will take over as chief executive officer, succeeding founder Shehnaaz Suliman. The transition was presented as a move to keep momentum after the company achieved clinical validation earlier this year.

Clark joined ReCode in 2022 and has been directing the company’s cystic fibrosis strategy. She previously spent two decades at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, contributing to the development of CFTR modulator therapies such as Trikafta and Alyftrek, and built a strong relationship with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The board and Suliman emphasized that the internal candidate was the best choice to lead the next generation of the company’s gene‑editing programs for cystic fibrosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia. The CF Foundation is also providing new funding to support ReCode’s continued work in these indications.
