Siemens Healthineers partners with Novo to raise awareness and testing for fatty liver disease

Siemens Healthineers and Novo have announced a collaboration aimed at increasing awareness and improving diagnosis of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and its progressive form, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).

The partnership will focus on educating patients and clinicians about these often silent conditions, which are common in individuals with obesity and diabetes and can lead to serious liver damage if untreated. Early stages are managed with diet and exercise, while advanced disease has been the target of drug development.

The effort builds on recent therapeutic advances, such as the 2024 approval of Madrigal’s Rezdiffra for MASH and Novo’s 2025 approval of Wegovy for obesity and non-cirrhotic MASH with liver fibrosis, and leverages Siemens Healthineers’ ELF blood test to support screening.
