Iambic Therapeutics eyes IPO as it pushes HER2 inhibitor IAM1363 into early trials
Iambic Therapeutics, a San Diego AI‑driven biotech, said it is preparing for an initial public offering after securing several large‑scale partnerships with major pharmaceutical companies.
In its recent SEC filing the company indicated that its primary spending focus will be on IAM1363, an oral, brain‑penetrant small‑molecule inhibitor targeting HER2‑altered solid tumours and currently enrolled in a phase‑1 study.
Iambic describes IAM1363 as the only HER2 tyrosine‑kinase inhibitor that binds the inactive DFG‑out conformation, a Type II binding mode that it believes provides selectivity for HER2 over EGFR and activity against HER2 variants with activating mutations.
The firm plans to launch a registrational trial of IAM1363 in early 2027 and sees the drug’s potential across multiple HER2‑driven cancers, including breast cancer, gastro‑esophageal adenocarcinoma and non‑small‑cell lung cancer.
Earlier data on the molecule were presented at the European Society of Medical Oncology meeting last year, underscoring the company’s effort to build clinical credibility ahead of the IPO.
