RegCell secures multi-million dollar Series A to advance Nobel-winning regulatory T-cell therapy
RegCell, a biotech founded by Nobel laureate Shimon Sakaguchi, announced a new financing round to move its regulatory T-cell (Treg) program toward clinical testing.
The company’s CEO Michael McCullar said the funds will support manufacturing, pre-clinical work and the design of early-stage trials for the Treg therapy that builds on Sakaguchi’s five-decade research into immune regulation.
The financing was described as a Series A round, with reports citing amounts between $44 million and $66 million, reflecting strong investor interest in cell-based immunotherapies.
The capital injection positions RegCell to file the necessary regulatory submissions and potentially begin patient enrollment later this year.
