Novo Nordisk halts two late-stage ziltivekimab heart trials after futility finding
read at Endpoints ↗Negative readoutNegative
Novo Nordisk announced it has stopped work early on two additional late-stage clinical studies of its IL-6 inhibitor ziltivekimab, which was being evaluated for heart disease.
The decision followed a review by the studies’ data monitoring committee, which concluded there was little chance the trials would meet their primary endpoints.
By terminating the programs, Novo Nordisk will redirect resources away from these investigations, reflecting a setback for its cardiovascular pipeline.
