AbbVie’s etentamig shows strong survival and response gains in Phase 3 multiple myeloma trial

AbbVie reported that its investigational bispecific T‑cell engager, etentamig, significantly reduced the risk of disease progression or death in a Phase 3 study of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.

The CERVINO trial, which enrolled 421 heavily pre‑treated patients, demonstrated a 60% improvement in progression‑free survival compared with standard therapies and an objective response rate of 74% versus 45.7% in the control arm.

Analysts highlighted that etentamig’s cleaner safety profile and once‑monthly dosing schedule could differentiate it from other BCMA‑targeting agents currently on the market.

The positive readout was presented at the 23rd International Myeloma Society Annual Meeting in Scotland, prompting optimism among investors about the drug’s commercial potential.
