Fortrea announced it will purchase the early-phase services division of Worldwide Clinical Trials for $45 million.
The transaction gives Fortrea control of Worldwide's clinical pharmacology unit, a 60,000-square-foot GLP bioanalytical lab, a 200-bed GCP-compliant pharmacology unit and a biospecimen storage facility, all based in Texas.
Fortrea says the acquisition will expand its capacity for early-phase studies, reduce handoffs between clinical and bioanalytical teams and give sponsors more flexibility for larger, complex trials.
