Medigen partners with Charles River to advance multivalent enterovirus vaccine globally

Charles River Laboratories and Taiwan's Medigen Vaccine Biologics announced a collaboration to prepare Medigen’s multivalent enterovirus vaccine for worldwide use.

The partnership will focus on characterizing and validating the virus seed bank, using Charles River’s analytical platforms, including next‑generation sequencing to support chemistry, manufacturing and controls steps.

Medigen’s existing Envacgen enterovirus 71 vaccine, already approved in Taiwan and Vietnam, will benefit from the CRO’s testing expertise, aiming to meet regulatory requirements for broader markets.

Both companies said the collaboration leverages Charles River’s biologics testing and safety experience to achieve key milestones and drive innovation in vaccine development.
