Qiagen names Jonathan M. Pratt as new chief executive after nine-month search

Qiagen announced that Jonathan M. Pratt will take over as chief executive, ending a nine‑month search for a successor.

Pratt arrives from Filtration Group, where he served as president and CEO. He has also held senior positions at Waters Corporation and Beckman Coulter Life Sciences.

In his introductory remarks, Pratt said his first priority is to listen to Qiagen teams and customers, sharpen the company’s choices, strengthen execution and create greater impact.

The appointment follows the unexpected departure of long‑term CEO Thierry Bernard, who stepped down after six years. Bernard’s tenure included a near‑acquisition by Thermo Fisher in 2020 that ultimately collapsed.
