Hardie’s Fresh Foods recalls 5‑lb pepper jalapenos over potential Salmonella contamination

Dairyland Produce, operating as Hardie’s Fresh Foods in Houston and Dallas, announced a recall of its 5‑pound pepper jalapeno product due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The recall affects jalapenos packaged in clear plastic bags with lot codes X2741775, X2741859, X2744163, X2744706, X2746349, X2746490, X2748743 and production dates from July 11 to July 18, 2026. The items were distributed to Costco stores in Stafford and Dallas, Texas.

Salmonella can cause severe illness, especially in young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals, with symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, and in rare cases can spread to the bloodstream.

Consumers who may have purchased the recalled jalapenos should discard them or return them to the store. The FDA has been notified and the company is cooperating with authorities.
