Baylor Genetics suffers cyberattack exposing patient and employee data

Baylor Genetics, a diagnostic genomics company, announced that an unauthorized third party accessed portions of its network between June 11 and June 17.

The breach involved a limited subset of patient records, exposing personal details such as dates of birth, lab test results, health insurance information, and in some cases Social Security numbers.

Current and former employee data were also affected, potentially including government‑issued identification numbers and financial account information.

The company detected suspicious activity in early August, completed its investigation by July 30, and is notifying impacted individuals about the breach.
