Definium's LSD-based therapy shows strong Phase 3 results in generalized anxiety disorder

Definium Therapeutics reported that its LSD-derived oral tablet, DT120, met its primary endpoint in a Phase 3 trial for generalized anxiety disorder. The study enrolled over 200 participants and compared a single psychoactive session with the drug to a placebo.

Patients receiving DT120 experienced a reduction in anxiety scores that was roughly double the improvement seen with placebo, according to the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale measured at 12 weeks. The difference translated to an 11.6‑point drop versus a 6.2‑point drop for the control group.

Company executives highlighted the magnitude of the placebo‑adjusted benefit as unprecedented for a pivotal anxiety trial, calling it a potential "sea change" in treatment expectations.
